I have been saying for some time now that golfers stand to benefit* more from a low carb, high fat diet than possibly any other sportspersons. The demands of the sport - and in particular the mental endurance required over a 4 day tournament like the US Masters - line up very neatly indeed with the rewards of fat adaptation.

It appears that British golfer Justin Rose - the 2013 US Open Champion - is on his way. Having ditched wheat and grains a month ago, Cereal Killer Rose is already enjoying the benefits.
“I have given up gluten, like Djokovic. It worked for him – he is a little whippet,” Rose said. “I reckon I have lost eight to 10 pounds and I feel so much better for it. My joints feel amazing, no soreness, no early morning creaks. It has been amazing."
Could Rose become the first fat adapted, grain free Major winner in the history of golf?
